Instructions
The interface consists of a text field for entering search terms, a search/go/stop
button, a help button, the results window, and a status line.

Text field - enter search terms here,

Terms can include phrases, exclude words, or logical expressions,

Phrases: multiple words enclosed in quotes are treated as a
single phrase,

Exclude words: words starting with a minus ('-') are treated
as words that should not match,

Logical expressions: use '|' (or) and '&' (and) to make
logical expressions; default is to assume 'and' between all
words (preceding a word with '+' is treated as part of a
logical 'and').

Case is always ignored.

Search/go/stop button - begin a search, view a result, stop a search,

After entering a search term (the button changes to a
magnifying glass), click the button to start searching,

After the search completes, choose an entry from the
list (the button changes to an arrow) and click the
button to view the page,

While a search is in progress (the button changes to a
rotating octagon), click the button to stop searching.

Help button - links to the HouseSpider instruction page,
-
Results list - displays search matches; double-click an
entry in the list or single-click and click on the Go
button to view the page,

Status line - displays information about the search index
and the search results.
This search will return results from the entire GSD web site, including
password protected areas. If you need access to a protected area of the
GSD web site, please complete a Survey and
complete and fax to GSD an
International Traffic In Arms Regulations document
and a
GSD User Agreement document
(the GSD fax number is available on the
Contacts page).
