GSD (Graphical Situation Display) Logo

Introduction

The Graphical Situation Display (GSD) is a set of Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software libraries developed for the Army Space Program Office (ASPO). The GSD software libraries are designed to render graphical overlays of military symbology and communicate the graphical overlay information via a standard message format. GSD also supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) mapping, charting, and geodesy symbology.

To learn more about GSD, please follow the About GSD link. To access the software, please use either the Trial Users or Registered Users link under SW & Docs, whichever is appropriate (note: both links require a user ID and password, see below for more information).

The full software distribution is available to programs which have received approval by ASPO. A trial version of the software is available to programs wishing to evaluate the utility of the GSD software, prior to requesting ASPO approval for use of the full distribution. The trial version contains all the same components (documentation, sample applications, etc.) as the full version, except for the GSD software libraries (the components needed by programs for the development of applications using the GSD software). To request access to the GSD software, please follow the Request Access link under SW & Docs and complete the required form.

Distribution of GSD technical data is restricted under U.S. Export Law. For this reason, in addition to completing the survey, all programs wishing to use the GSD software must also complete the International Traffic in Arms Regulations form and GSD User Agreement form, also available from the survey page.

If you have any questions regarding GSD which are not answered on this site, please direct them to one of the contacts listed on the Contacts page (also accessible via the Contacts link under Support) or contact the GSD help desk.
